Butternut Squash, Apple, and Spice Holiday Recipe

Summary
cider

A great part about entering into the holiday season is the delicious array of tantalizing foods that accompany our celebrations. After all, what would thanksgiving be without a rich and delicious meal to pull up chairs around with your loved ones? Having said that, some of the foods you consume around the holidays don’t have an exactly ideal fat-to-nutrients ratio. (I’m looking at you, buttery mashed potatoes.)

Vegetables and Vitamins

With that in mind, here’s a helpful juicing recipe that will provide you with the satisfying traditional flavor palette associated with the holiday season without compromising your ability to maintain a healthy lifestyle. The bonus is that this juice concoction is made from apples and squash, which are both in season and easily purchased at your local grocer or farmer’s market. It’s also full of beta-carotene and Vitamins C and E. As printed, this recipe will yield you between 16 and 20 ounces of juice. If you have leftover juice, simply chuck it into a plastic container and refrigerate it for a snack a bit later.

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups of raw butternut squash
  • 1 Large honey crisp apple
  • A dash of cinnamon

Directions:

  • Thoroughly wash the apple and squash.
  • Peel the squash and apple and cut them into chunks.
