Cran-apple-orange Juice

cran-apple-orange -juiceFor the first time ever, when I was shopping at my local produce store, I came across a bushel of fresh cranberries. Intrigued, I had to pick up some of the tasty little buggers and do some juicy experiments. To add fun, nutrition, and familiarity I mingled apples and oranges (who says you can’t mix apples and oranges?) The flavor is zesty and eye opening and the health benefits are copious.

Cranberries have earned their place in the world of superfoods. Cranberries have shown to be effective in preventing bladder and urinary tract infections due to their ability to prevent E.coli from sticking to the walls of the G.I. tract. Cranberries are also rich in polyphenol antioxidants. These antioxidants are still being researched, but have been associated with cardiovascular and immune system improvement. These particular antioxidants are also thought to have possible anti-cancer agents. In addition to these health benefits, cranberries have shown to benefit brain function and cognitive abilities. Although not completely backed up with research, some studies have also found cranberries to help prevent the flu, cavities, and gastric ulcers.
