The holidays are a time of year when our appetites often outrun our best intentions. As a result, it’s easy to let nutrition slip. Making this detoxifying green juice is a great way to start the year off on healthy footing – it’ll help to undo some of the unhealthy missteps you may have made as of late.
This juice combines the earthy punch of spinach with the zing of lemon and ginger. Spinach’s power as a detoxifier comes from its ability to boost chlorophyll levels in the digestive tract. This higher chlorophyll level helps the body to shed toxins. The apples in this juice provide sweetness but also a healthy dose of vitamin C. Watercress is perhaps the most exotic ingredient found in this recipe, but you shouldn’t have much trouble locating it in your local supermarket. It contains a significant amount of vitamin E in addition to many antioxidants.
- ½ a bunch of spinach
- A handful of watercress
- 1 Lemon, peeled
- 1 celery stalk
- 2 Apples
- 1 inch slice of ginger
- Wash all ingredients, and peel the lemon

- Feel free to dial up or dial down the amount of citrus and ginger in this juice to the level that you prefer.
