Grape Vine Love

grape-vine-loveWith all of the Christmas celebrations going on, there is sure to be a ton of wine and sparkling substitutes. If you are looking to improve your health and avoid the alcohol, you can add your own addition to the buffet table in the form of this healthy and delicious fruit juice. Comprised of mostly red grapes, you are more than welcome to drink this juice in a wine glass and feel festive while drinking your vitamin C and potassium. It is a great drink for children as well, as they can feel like they are part of the festivities with their own plastic wine glass and a nutritional drink to help bolster their little immune systems and keep the sick away from the celebration.Although the ingredients list is relatively simple, this juice will cost a little more than most because of the price of fresh grapes. This is a delicious juice, though, and the added expense will be worth it, especially if it is your addition to a holiday party. This recipe will make about 24 ounces, so be prepared to triple or quadruple the recipe if you are going to share. Also, the grapes must of course be plucked from the vine prior to juicing, so leave yourself time to prepare this drink. The carrots and apples will mute the sharp sweetness of the grapes, adding fiber and B vitamins to the abundance of vitamin C and potassium.

  • 2 lbs red grapes
  • 2 apples
  • 2 carrots

  • Rinse all produce thoroughly
  • Pick grapes from the vine
  • Cut stems from carrots
  • Chop all ingredients to fit in juicer
  • Juice carrots and apples first, then add grapes carefully, preventing them from coming back out of juicer
  • Pour into a wine glass and serve
  • Enjoy!
