Hurom HRM002 Slow Juicer

Hurom HU100 slow juicer

The Hurom Slow Juicer is compact and easy to store. It is also nice looking, so it can be left out on the counter. In certain online stores, there are different colors available, if black or silver are preferred. The juicer uses a screw-like gear to slowly break apart the food and extract the juice. The juicer runs at just 80 RPM, so the cell structure of the food is maintained. This makes for a noticeably darker, thicker juice that doesn’t separate the same way that juice from a centrifugal juicer does. Despite running slowly, the juice still comes out relatively quickly (I know it sounds crazy, but watch a video), and the pulp is dispelled into a separate container. The pulp is drier and the juice itself maintains more nutrients than most juice from other juicers.

Appearance and Build

The Hurom Slow Juicer has a sleek outer casing, and a clear center compartment. When the juicer is in action, the food can be seen passing through the crushing auger. The juicer has two spouts, one expels the juicer and the other expels the pulp. This eliminates the need to clean a “pulp trap” before juicing more foods. The food is fed into the machine by a chute on the top.

This is a quiet juicer, due to the low number of RPMs. It is easy to use, and it is much easier to clean than many slow juicers. It is also lightweight, and has a convenient handle. It can juice almonds into almond milk, juice spouts, greens, and wheat grass with ease. It will take a little more cutting, but the juicer can also juice hard foods, like carrots and beets easily. The price tag is a little steep, at $330 on sale, but it is a worthy cost for those juicerheads that wish to preserve nutrients, and even start making their own almond milk.
