Jack LaLanne Power Juicer Express

Jack LaLanne is one of the best-known names in juicers, and for good reason. Jack LaLanne’s juicers are often touted for their durability, ease of use, and of course the delicious juices that they make. The Power Express Juicer is a relatively inexpensive model at around $100 from most retailers, and is perfect for beginner juicerheads.

Appearance and Build

The Jack LaLanne Power Juicer Express is a centrifugal juicer, so the juice comes out quickly. Running at 3600 RPM, the technique is as simple as doing minor prep work to fit the produce into the juicer, and putting the produce through the chute. The chute is relatively large, so most average sized apples and cucumbers will take just a bit of prep, but carrots, celery, and thinner items of that nature can go in whole. The stainless steel blade is of surgical quality, so it will not wear as quickly as other models. The juicer comes apart easily, and the parts are dishwasher safe and easy to clean. There is also a recipe and instruction booklet that will help first time juicerheads decide what to make.

Issues and Complaints

While the low price and ease of use of the Power Juicer Express make it an attractive purchase for beginner juicerheads, more experienced juicerheads may be disappointed with the results. The juicer does not compare to higher quality models for juice extraction, and may leave much of the pulp wet or even uncut in some cases. The screen also clogs more easily than more expensive models, so the machine may need to be stopped and cleaned after juicing more fibrous produce items. So while the juicer may be a perfect juicer for starting out with, it may not be ideal for veteran juicerheads that wish to get as much juice and nutrition as possible from the produce.
