While the combination may sound strange, this juice is just a little tangy with a hint of sweet to balance out the flavor. The addition of the strawberries at this time of year when the strawberries are ultra-sweet makes this juice a little tastier than it may be at other times of year.

Red rockin’ refresher juice is also jam packed with antioxidants from the combination of so many red fruits and vegetables. Lycopene and anthocyanins run heavy in these red wonders, and can help improve your cardiovascular health while fighting cancer-causing free radicals. In addition, the carrots and tomatoes can help protect your eye health and prevent macular degeneration.

Ingredients

  • 1 tomato
  • 10 strawberries
  • 3 carrots
  • 1 apple
  • 1 red pepper
  • 1 inch long piece of ginger
  • 1 lime

Recipe

  • Wash all produce completely
  • Remove tops from strawberries and carrots
  • Remove seeds and stem from red pepper
  • Peel lime
  • Remove stem from apple
  • Chop all produce as necessary to fit in juicer
  • If possible, use a masticating juicer to get the most juice from strawberries and other produce
  • If desired, juice tomato, carrots, and red peeper and remove pulp for use in a tomato soup
  • If a centrifugal juicer must be used, juice carrots, apple, ginger, lime, and red pepper first
  • The juice strawberries, followed by tomato
  • Shake or stir thoroughly to combine all flavors
  • Serve immediately for best results
