Red lettuce is rich in vitamin A and vitamin K. While lettuce is often used in salads and overlooked when it comes to juicing, juicing your lettuce can provide most of the nutritional benefits. This can help you to make a nice change if you often eat salads, or if you have an abundance of lettuce from your garden. Red lettuce has most of the nutritional benefits of romaine lettuce. Vitamin K can help keep bones strong and can help with blood clotting, while vitamin A can help provide immune support and can keeps skin and vision healthy.


  • 3 large carrots
  • 6 red lettuce leaves
  • 1 apple
  • ½ lemon


  • Wash all produce thoroughly, allowing lettuce to soak to loosen any dirt between the leaves
  • Core apple and remove stem
  • Peel lemon
  • Remove undesirable parts from carrots, peeling if a less earthy flavor is desired
  • Juice all produce. A centrifugal juicer often does better with the apples, but may not extract the maximum amount of juice from greens
