Strawberry Cucumber Refresher

This juice utilizes the delightful flavor of strawberries, which are now at the peak of the season in Florida. Using strawberries at their peak time is a great way to get the most nutrition and flavor from your strawberries. Since strawberries can be purchased at a much lower price than at other times of year, it may be a good investment to purchase extra strawberries and freeze them.

To freeze fresh strawberries, just remove the stems as you normally would, and wash the strawberries thoroughly. While the strawberries are still wet, lay them flat on a parchment lined cookie sheet or other flat sheet pan that will fit in the freezer. Place the strawberries directly into the freezer without covering, and leave them for about 24 hours. When the strawberries are thoroughly frozen, place them in a freezer bag and store for up to six months. These frozen strawberries are great for use in smoothies, as you can eliminate the ice and just blend the strawberries without thawing.

Boasting strawberries, cucumber, apple, and carrots, this juice will help to keep the body and skin hydrated. The antioxidants inherent in the strawberries will help immune system health, while much of the country is still fighting the cold. The juice will also give you an energy boost, while finishing with a sweet and refreshing flavor.
