Strawberry Pineapple Virgin Daiquiri

It’s no secret that summertime get-togethers are often supplemented by a bit of imbibing. If you’re an adult, there’s nothing wrong with consuming a bit of alcohol, albeit in moderation. But it’s important to remember that this alcohol contains empty calories. It’s also important to remember that too much is bad for your health, and can also be dangerous. One of them most effective ways of modifying behavior is to exchange an old behavior for a new one which is very similar but not as damaging. Today’s juice is a delicious cocktail minus the spirits – it’ll taste so good and give you such a rush of energy that you might not even notice its lack of alcohol. That is, at least until you next step on the scale.

Strawberry daiquiris are a summertime staple. And strawberries should be ripe and available at a nearby farmer’s market. The limes and pineapple in this recipe will require a trip to the supermarket. But don’t feel too guilty about buying these tropical items – they truly are necessary to make this daiquiri taste like a daiquiri.

  • 1 Cup of strawberries
  • 2 limes
  • 1 ½ Cups of pineapple

  • Wash the strawberries and peel limes and set aside.
  • Cut top off of pineapple. Then shave off skin carefully with a knife. Notice the hard inner core of the pineapple. Make a cut beginning at the top of the pineapple that follows along the line of the core all the way down. Remove this long strip of fruit and continue to slice the pineapple in this way until only the hard inner core remains.
  • Juice all ingredients
  • Pour over ice and serve with an umbrella if you’re feeling fancy.
