Watermelon, summer’s favorite fruit, is at the heart of this recipe. Watermelon is well known for its cooling properties, and of course its incredible natural sweetness. Recent studies have shown that watermelon also helps relieve muscle soreness. Scientists say the muscle relief comes from an amino acid called L-citrulline, which helps cells get more oxygen. This increased oxygen supply helps the muscles to repair faster, decreasing the amount of time that muscles are sore, as well as the intensity of the ache. Sporting the delightful nutrients Vitamin A and C, lycopene, and betacarotene, as well as a whopping 92 percent water, watermelon can both hydrate and nourish. 

Ingredients

  • ¼ of a seedless watermelon, outer rind removed
  • 2 oranges, peeled
  • 1 cup strawberries
  • 1 cup grapes

Directions

  • Remove Rind from watermelon and peel from orange
  • Wash strawberries and grapes thoroughly
  • Juice all fruit, starting with the watermelon
  • Pulp can be added back in if desired
  • This drink can be frozen, then slightly thawed for added fun
