Sweet Citrus Delight

sweet-citrus-delightAs citrus comes into winter fruition, it can make a wonderful addition to many different kind of juices. The strong bitterness of grapefruit can be difficult to blend for those that do not naturally enjoy the fruit. However, the nutritional benefits of grapefruit are many, and adding this juice to a mixed blend is one way to partake of the benefits without the intense flavor. Touting fat burning and cholesterol lowering abilities, grapefruit is a welcome addition to most diets at this time of year.Adding tangerines, pears, apple, and bananas is a great way to pack a mega-dose of vitamin C and potassium, too. These fruits can help boost immunity while taking the bitterness of the grapefruit and the zestiness of the tangerines down a notch. The pear juice will add thickness and body to the drink, along with fiber, and it will leave you feeling full. This is a great juice to drink first thing in the morning, as it will give you a boost of energy. If you are diabetic or have sugar sensitivities, however, be cautious when drinking this juice as the natural sugar in the fruits can cause a sugar spike.
