Very Berry Punch


verry-berry-juiceWe’re entering that tremendous part of the year where many of the tastiest berries are in season. There really ought to be an official holiday for this time of year. With so many different berries overlapping in ripeness, you really can’t go wrong. So in the spirit of this bountiful time of year, we thought it’d be fun to enlist several of the ripe varieties in one delicious punch. Feel free to substitute whichever berries are currently available and in season at your local farmers market.Blueberries and raspberries have both been selected for this punch due to their superfood status. Both of these lovely berries are well known for their antioxidant properties. Antioxidants are substances which block the spread of free radicals in the body. Free radicals have been linked to cancer. So the basic equation is: more anti-oxidants = less free radicals and less risk of cancer development. Luckily, all you have to do to make this happen today is down this juice – not such bitter medicine, huh?


  • ½ Cup of blueberries
  • ½ Cup raspberries
  • ½ Cup strawberries
  • 1 Apple
  • Sprig of mint


  • Wash the berries gently but thoroughly.
  • Pour the berries into the juicer, adding the mint sprig about half-way through the process of adding the berries – this’ll help the mint get juiced more efficiently.
  • Add the apple.
  • Pour the finished punch over ice and enjoy.
