The kale, orange, beet, apple, and carrots work together to provide most of your daily recommended quantity of vitamin C. The carrots, kale, and beets give the juice a mild earthy flavor. The ginger adds zest and freshness. The apple and orange add a hint of sweetness, but work well with the earthy flavors and don’t overpower the juice.   • 1 large beet
  • 2 carrots
  • 3 kale leaves
  • 1 sweet apple
  • 1 orange
  • 1 1-inch piece ginger


  • Wash all produce thoroughly
  • Remove tops from beet and carrot
  • Remove seeds and stem from apple
  • Peel orange
  • Cut all produce to fit in juicer
  • Juice carrots, then apples, then ginger and orange
  • Juice beet and kale
  • Mix thoroughly
  • Drink as soon as possible, or store in an opaque, airtight container and drink within 48 hours
