Yummy Cherry Peach Juice

cherry-peach-juiceIn modern supermarkets, just about everything is always in season. Of course, it’s not really. But modern farming techniques have lengthened the seasonal period in which produce can be grown. And modern transportation methods have drastically broadened the area from which produce can be trucked in. That’s why we can consume cherries and peaches in the dead of winter. But that’s not when these foods are actually ripe in North America, folks! These types of produce are actually ripe right now, in the middle of the summer. And that’s when you should be juicing them. Why now? Because when you buy them locally, you will increase the likelihood that they are fresh and high in nutrient content. Additionally, you’ll be supporting farmers that may be your neighbors. And if these reasons were enough, there’s a practical one as well. Buying produce for juicing at a supermarket can be difficult because of the sheer number of options. When you buy seasonal produce at a farmer’s market instead, your choices are simplified – you’re letting mother nature help you choose which produce you should be juicing!

Seasonal Cherry and Peach Juice Recipe

Cherries and peaches are both sweet fruits that also have a healthy side. Like many berries, cherries are a good source of antioxidants. Antioxidants may help to limit the risk of cancer. For its part, the peach is a good source of vitamins A and C.

  • 2 Peaches, pitted
  • 1 Cup of Cherries, pitted
  • 1 Lime, peeled

  • Remove the pits from the cherries and the peaches.
  • Remove the skin from the lime. If you don’t mind its bitterness though, leave the skin on!
  • Juice it all up.
  • Pour over ice. This is a very sweet and concentrated juice. So sip it and enjoy!
